KYM Forum Rules

1. Absolutely no pornographic or gore material on the site. This includes, but is not limited to, the forums, image uploads, and comments on: meme entries, profiles, images, and any other communication mediums on the site.

2a. Do not post spam. This includes advertisements posted to user areas (defined as any area of the site designed specifically for users, which includes forums, comments sections, meme entries, and image/video uploads) where "advertisements" is defined as the solicitation of irrelevant or purely promotional material. Additionally, do not use automated systems to violate this rule ("bots," scripts, programs, or any other method of automating user registration and content distribution). Accounts that violate this rule are subject to immediate termination at the site moderation's discretion.

2b. Do not flood. "Flood" is a term to describe the rapid submission of a large quantity of redundant information. Examples: Posting the same thread multiple times; Posting several times in the same thread within a short period of time (double-, triple-, quadruple-posting and beyond); Posting the same content repeatedly on the same user area or a different user area (repeat comments, spamming comment threads or forum threads, etc).

3. Do not attempt to evade a ban. Using a proxy, changing your IP address, or other means of evading a ban in order to make a new account after you have been banned is strictly prohibited.

4. Use common sense when posting. If you have nothing to say on a particular subject, simply skip the topic and move on. The other users may be irritated by your intrusion.

5. Please be nice. We want Know Your Meme to be a pleasant, welcoming community for both new and old users.

This topic is applying for forum rules, more than the entire website.
It's even precised in the first post:

What did the banned people say? It's always serious threads like this that people get banned for posting on.

They were hacked. So before you go on blaming people, get the facts.

Shouldn't these be updated or something?
The fifth rule is really subjective IMO
Plus there are several non-spoken rules we really don't explain
That's just my opinion

Agreed. Also, I think we should make rules about users that are really annoying.

For them, we could ban them for a day or two to learn their lesson….

:D thanks for the rules, it really helps out newbies like me, but yeah, Taryn is right, some unspoken rules would be nice :S just so people like me don't annoy anyone in the threads
