And how about we start of this page with some EXPLOSIONS!!!

If anything, Fluttershy would be more likely to smoke pot instead. AJ would probably chew tobacco (because south), and Rarity I can kinda see smoking one of those really long fancy cigarettes. But Pinkie’s too childish, RD would get suspended from whatever sports league she’s in, and Twilight is much too smart to indulge in anything.

I could see AJ smoking because stereotypes, Rarity getting into some prescription drugs like Oxycontin, Vicodin, etc. since that's what all the rich socialite mares are doing, Fluttershy on morphine since she used it to treat animals, RD on some stimulant like meth or a steroid (which I don'th think are addictive), Pinkie on party drugs like ecstasy, and Twilight getting into coke to help her cram during exams/deal with the stress.

DVD/Blue Ray release date's out. Seems a little strange they'd release it only a month after it hits theaters. Might suggest they want it out before S5 hits, which could hint at a Nov premiere date.

I have to bring up a slight thought I've had rattling round my brain for a while… Why is Celestia always portrayed at the assertive pony in a relationship?

For some reason it clashes with my perception of her as a very passive being. To the point where if she were a thousand years younger I'd be depicting her as the shy one.

I figured something to that effect myself. I suppose the best way to put it to words would be "Celestia is basically Fluttershy, minus the anxiety, plus 1000 years of life experience".

I wouldn't be so sure about the passive part, though. I suppose it appears that way, but consider the fact that we've been shown next to nothing of her activities. I'm very much hoping for a Celestia episode, because while being mysterious and inscrutable is kinda her shtick, it'd be nice to know at least something of substance.

As for why she's depicted as the assertive party, it's quite simple. She's the one wearing the goddamn crown around here, and doesn't need to remind everyone of the fact. No true king needs to reiterate that he is one, after all.

It all makes sense in context, too. Even if she is introverted, which is heavily implied to be the case (she'd rather engineer a posh party's destruction than attend it, after all), she'd have to be the initiator because everyone's put her on such a high pedestal. Not too many who'd consider casually flirting with a god-empress, I imagine. Hey, that might be part of the reason Discolestia has such traction, eh?

And she's not always depicted as assertive. Plenty of stories where she's got a submissive streak of royal proportions, heh.

Okay… I think I get that in a pragmatic analysis… However, despite that fact, I just don't see her being much of an initiator. The closest to an initiator I can see her being is essentially to invite somepony else to make a move. Things like telling somepony she's dating that they can kiss her if they want, and then letting them be the one to lean into the kiss.

… Whether that in itself counts as initiating or not is up for debate. But its a pity that few take that approach.

That . . . kinda works. It sort of explains why Fluttershy and Discord get along so well – since Shy is so much like Celestia was before Discord was frozen the first time. So, like if you take Fluttershy as your template, give her phenomenal cosmic power without the itty-bitty living space, and let simmer for a millennium, I can totally see Celestia coming out.

It also meshes well with pink-mane Celestia, so that's another thing.

Wait, so Celestia is essentially a hypothetical Future Flutts? Hmm… I guess that could make sense. I wonder if that's why the dressed Flutts as Tia in that one episode.

Probably has everything to do with her being the ultimate ruler and such, that would naturally imply being the "top"-er in the relationship.
I'd be fine with the other "interpretation" though, there does seem a decent backing for that. Just don't have her hooking up with her sister, okay?
