New trailer for the Elden Ring DLC dropped recently, along with the June 21st release date:

Notably, this expansion costs $40, where normally they usually cost somewhere around $20. One reaction to this bit of news interests me. Here, he states that "Fromsoftware has earned that trust" to have the price set as high as it is. I'd say that I agree with him, but there's gonna be limits to that. Trust in a game company can very easily be shattered as I'm sure most of us are aware by now; and since the price is as high as it is, Fromsoftware has set expectations. And the only way we know if they've been met or exceeded is when it's released.

Of course, even if this expansion is a solid experience, whether or not that experience would be worth $40 can be subjective. All we can do now is wait…

As a Souls fan myself who happens to be binging Elden Ring non-stop, I will be holding off from pre-ordering the DLC and just wait until the general census determine whether or not this DLC is good or not.

I personally have high hopes that the DLC would be good, but I also believe that we, as people with common sense, should hold off from pre-ordering everything that has been hyped to hell and back out of sheer principle.

Pre-ordering nowadays is just too much of a risk. Especially vidya.
